My first language is the one I learned as a child, which is spoken in the land where I am from. My second language is the one I learned after that, when I moved to the country where I currently reside. 'first', 'second', and so on just indicates the order in which the language is learned.
...that would honestly be very helpful, but we're not quite there yet in my world. The options we have are inaccurate and don't pick up on slang or wordplay.

That would certainly be the ideal. I wouldn't have been able to communicate with anyone else here otherwise. Then I wouldn't have been able to meet such friendly people.
