[Honestly he is not prepared for that, so while he does get an arm up to cover his face he's still getting hit by it. Ow. That's definitely going to cut up his arm.

But he cares less about that and more about the young man having a bad time in front of him, so he does what he does best: uses fire to solve problems.

Or, in this case, the feeling of warmth from a fire, fond memories driving that emotion of warmth and safety. Though an emotion can't purge pollution or corruption like actual dragon fire can, he doesn't want to risk an open flame around someone he hasn't warned first. And hey, maybe the warmth he's focusing on inside of himself will leak out as emotions have been and help Adolphe.

Regardless, he's using that warmth to steady himself against the void emotions as he moves towards Adolphe, taking slow steps as he gets closer.]

Hey! Just...stay there for a moment, okay? I'm coming over!

[ Ali is smart. Using emotional warmth would definitely calm most people, especially with the current effects of contagious emotionshare.

Despite that, Adolphe's frown deepens and he looks like he's actively trying to resist it. It doesn't really help when the shattered glass around him reflect his own memories of warmth—when young Adolphe acts brotherly to a sad, young girl, being the responsible one while quietly wishing to die and choosing the orphanage as his ideal place to pass away. I don't have videos for this because I'm never prepared with memshares and I'm on my phone, but that's the gist of what Ali will see. Welcome to the graveyard! We have permanent memshares. :')

Adolphe quickly points his sword over at Ali. ]

Don't come any closer. I don't want to feel emotions that aren't mine. Stop it.

[ He looks almost delirious when he sees that his own memories are displayed out like that. ]

[Ali sees the sword but he doesn't hesitate in the slightest. He's been killed twice now, what is a third time going to do that's any different?]

[Concord's words from centuries ago ring in Ali’s ears: "I may not be able to help everyone, but I can at least help the people right in front of me." Ali had told Concord his efforts would be in vain, but centuries later he is finally starting to see the truth to those words.

Ali isn't strong. He can't fight away the demons that haunt people. But he can still do something, even if he's not sure how that 'something' will be received.

So as he gets within sword range of Adolphe, he's going to try side-stepping the sword and going in to try and pull Adolphe into a tight hug. The horrors might persistent, but he has it on good authority that hugs are good at keeping the horrors quiet for a little while.]

[ Pointing a weapon at someone? Common. He doesn't think about what Ali says. The sidestep is successful and he gets the hug in, but Adolphe reacts badly. He doesn't like the emotionshare that swirls in the air, mixing them both. He doesn't know how to feel, but he tries shoving Ali away. At least Adolphe doesn't try stabbing him. ]

Stop. Let go...!
