[ What's up. We probably didn't mean to meet here, in the funhouse. ]

... This isn't a restaurant?

[ Nope. Instead, a memory is displayed in the mirrors:

You see villagers gathered before their chief, clamouring for action. There are intruders on the island, they say. Sanctists, come to steal the divine relics. They must be put to death. The chief tries to calm them, explaining that the outsiders have done no harm, but they will not be placated. This is but the latest in a series of disasters.

They are right. It is time to perform the ritual.

( ... also, if you notice little floating particles in the air? You can 100% see them. They are everywhere. ) ]

[ there's a lingering look at her brother, before he vanishes from the mirror's surface.

and after a moment, she shakes her head. ]

Very nearly, but no.

No! [ a little startled at that. ]

I fully intended to complete the ritual, but... it did not go as planned.

I went to the altar, where the Dragon God Eht awaited...

But there was something else there. Something that was not my god.

It was.

It had somehow attached itself to our god, like a parasite. It was the human that was consuming sacrifices, and... likely the human that brought calamity to our land.

... I did. Not without help, but...

We did succeed in freeing the Dragon God from its grasp, that it might serve as our protector once more.
